Ben's area of expertise is Blues history. He specializes in playing and teaching Country-Style Delta Blues, circa 1900-1940. He is a respected instructor at music programs and workshops across the country, including the reknown Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
His curriculum includes demonstrating the roots of this uniquely American music, using live performance to illustrate the historical and musical connections in African-American culture.He enjoys demonstrating while teaching in order for students to get a full understanding of styles.
When not presenting workshops, Ben performs locally in his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, and at Blues festivals.
